Next Step for Audley Sunningdale

The government has announced the sale of the former Civil Service College site near Ascot to Audley Group and Berkeley Group.

Chief executive of Audley Group, Nick Sanderson said: “This site presents a unique opportunity to create an aspirational mixed use development to serve the whole community. The demand for high quality retirement living options, with a holistic approach to housing, care and health, continues to grow and we’re proud to be leading the way.”

Audley Sunningdale retirement village will be situated in 15 acres of the estate and provide 103 apartments for people aged over 55.

Northcote House, the Grade II neo-Georgian mansion built in 1931 at the centre of the development, will be sensitively restored to become the Audley Club with swimming pool, gym, wellbeing facilities, library, restaurant and bar bistro.

The interior design practice on the development team is Bernard Interiors. Managing director Jen Bernard said: “Northcote House is a dramatic and opulent building in a great location. It has huge potential to be a comfortable, rich and elegant hospitality venue.”

Design CGIs for the development showing how the interior could look are in the Bernard Interiors’ portfolio.
