Bernard Interiors managing director Jen Bernard is to give final year students at Northumbria University a ‘real world’ insight into interior design practice.
As part of the professional practice and advanced commercial interior design modules on the BA (Hons) Interior Design course this term, Jen will be covering topics from design philosophy to understanding bespoke joinery manufacture, starting and growing a business, and how to work successfully with clients and contractors. Jen will also discuss the qualities practices look for in graduate designers and what makes a standout portfolio.
Jen commented: “It’s very exciting to be working with designers about to launch their careers. I am also looking forward to strengthening the practice’s formal links with the university. Many of our talented team at Bernard Interiors are Northumbria alumni in various disciplines.”
